No ,redheads originated after the ice age was repopulated in the north west/atlantic seaboard from people who had sheltered in the mountains of France and Spain and some of the first European settelers in Mexico were also Spanird so that should explain it part of it.

Wake up call; latin America has been a racial mixing bowl long before the USA. Spain was the first to establish colonies in the ''new world'' and since then they have brought in people of all races and colors. Countries like Peru are full of asian, hindu and european immigrants
