I'm 15 6'0 250. But real atheletic. I know exactly what you mean when you block someone and get no credit. Bc when your team wins it's bc the running backs, recievers, and other skill guys did good. But when you lose it's bc the o-line didn't block, am I right? Anyways if you box, wear head gear. And honestly, you will lose to more experienced boxers. But that will just give YOU more experience. I think you should keep asking your dad to sign you up. Boxing requires ALOT of conditioning and agility so get those up. You can do it bro.
Not its not too late
GO FOR IT !!!
I'm 15, 5'10, and 215lbs (More bulky then fat) and always wanted to box since I was 11. What started my boxing dream was how my cousin used to fight MMA. He was 3-2 but retired because he found a good paying job outside of fighting. When I was 13 I was taught basic boxing in Jiu Jitsu Class (don't remember why..) and that was probably when the first fuse was lit . Because I loved it. Aha I got my first nosebleed that month... But my dad doesn't want me to box. He says that the kids that started when they were 8 are just going to destroy me, and give me concussions (which would make sense if we didn't wear head gear for amateur/sparring). I feel that he says this because he wants me to stick to football, which is honestly boring as hell. I mean I'm starting JV and gonna finish at least this upcoming season. But all I've done for 4 years is just block people and not get any credit. I get that boxing is a tough sport, but I mainly ask is it to late to start now?
And yes, it should be pretty obvious that I would be a heavyweight (not a bad thing at all).
