Nah no way man that's all in your head! If your boxing gyms are even a little bit like the ones locally to me nobody will treat you like that! Nobody looks down at anybody at the end of the day your all there for the same thing, you have similar hobbies and interests and you will probably get on really well with most the guys there! Just bite the bullet and go for it, you won't regret it!
Once you get to know the place and be in there more you will eventually get
that intimidated part out of your system.
It happens to me when I go into places I don't know anything about, and don't
know what to expect, especially not knowing people. I just really try not to let
it get it to me too much, that it overwhelms me. I try to overcome it, by NOT
thinking of what "could possibly happen?" or "what is the worst that can happen?"
instead think of what it is I am going to do in that place and what that place is
for only, then go out and head home, relax, sleep, then "wake and smell the
coffee".
Why do you want to get into boxing, is it for the love of the sport? Are you
prepared to learn and put in the effort to get to your goal?.What are your short
term goals for now? or do you have a long term goal which involves making
it to the pros?
If you hire a good trainer, as well as make your best effort in training and diet, you will earn the respect of those "in the know". It's only the know-nothings who would bad-mouth you..
im 15 and a wrestler going in I was bigger than most freshman so I wrestled sophomore and ill tell you right now doing something that people think you cant is one of the best feelings ever so go for it bro kick *** for me to!!
Does it matter what other people think of you? If you want to do something then do it. People probably thought Chris Eubank was too posh to fight?
I've just turned 16 and want to start boxing competitively. I'm 6ft 2 and a straight A student so I think I'm big enough and smart enough to handle it (I know there's more involved than just that) but as I am middle class and considered a nerd I think I might get looked down on and not taken seriously at the gym. I have smallscale social issues and I guess I just don't know what to expect when I get there
