Greatest Mexican Fighter = Chavez Sr

Best = Salvador Sanchez

My list reads like this:

1. Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

2. Ricardo Lopez

3. Salvador Sanchez

4.Carlos Zarate

5. Ruben Olivarez

6. Juan Manuel Marquez

7, Eric Morales

8. Marco Antonio Barerra

9. Fernando Montiel

10. Jorge Arce

Oscar DeLa Hoya, Michael Carbajal, Bobby Chacon, Orlando and Gaby Canizales, Tony Lopez, Louie Espinoza, Johnny Tapia, Danny Romero and Fernando Vargas are Mexican/American's so I don't know if they fit your criteria, but they get honorable mentions.

Julio Chavez Sr. without question. Number two has got to be Ricardo Lopez with a 51-0-1 record.

Personal favorites; Carlos Zarate 66 wins with 63 KO's and the late, great Salvador Sanchez.

Julio Cesar Chavez

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. It isn't just about being a great boxer (which he was), it's the fact that he exemplified what a mexican fighter was "supposed to be." Gritty, tough, powerful, strong chin, heart, all shown in his first fight with Taylor and many more. He was Mexican IN and OUT. There is a long list of great mexicans, Berrera, Morales, Marquez, Lopez, etc. etc., but in my opinion no one has matched what Chavez Sr. has meant to that entire country and fan base. He was the GOAT.

Greatest: Julio Cesar Chavez

Best: Juan Manuel Marquez

Julio Cesar Chavez

Julio Cesar Chavez.

If Mexican-Americans count, then De la Hoya is up there too.

Marquez is also a beast, not the Mexican GOAT but up there.

Without the handwraps scandal, probably Antonio Margarito as well.

Well my personal FAVORITE is Ricardo Lopez because I have never seen more of an exciting fighter at the lower classes ever.

But if we say all time, most people would argue Chavez and Chavez would still have my vote.

greatest based on accolades/achievements- Julio Cesar Chavez

greatest based on pure skill-set,without a doubt or second thought, in my opinion- Ricardo Lopez
