If I were to grade his chin, I'd give it a B. Yes he's been rocked a couple of times but he survived and handled it well. Floyd is tough, and I just don't see anyone out there who can beat him now. When it comes to who fights him now it's more like who might have a chance vice who would be favored to win.
A few years ago I'd say Manny Pacquiao had the style to give Floyd problems, but after his thumping last December at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez, I am not thinking that anymore.
I think Floyd can be knocked out, but we may never see it because of his elite defensive skill.
Marc,
I've always been of the opinion that fighters that are super slick and don't get hit flush too often have chins that are suspect, that eventually become the culprit. Roy Jones for example, when he was a middleweight he was almost impossible to hit with a clean shot. His reflexes were indeed incredible but the heavier and slower Roy got the more he started getting caught with shots and his CHIN was exposed.
Mosley caught Floyd and hurt him but didn't have enough in the tank to follow up. Cotto hurt Floyd and didn't follow up. Soon Floyd will have to fight a young hungry fighter that can crack and then you will see how fragile his chin is. He has hidden this far but not much longer.
Mayweather have a good chin every body gets rock sometime.
Yea , it means he's human,
of course they call him the pretty boy because he dosnt get hit much but can he take a shot? a 38 year old mosley staggered him does it mean anything?
