The key to a Victory over Vitali by Tyson would be head movement. Tyson spent literally hundreds of hours working on the Mazie ball, first with Cus then Kevin. Tyson's head movement early in his career was unlike any Heavyweights in history. The Mazie ball created balance and the ability to fore off rapid combinations while avoiding getting hit.
The one thing both the Klitschko's still do is often paw their jabs (a product of the way Eastern European fighters use to fight) this would allow Tyson to slip with side to side movement an unload and there's a huge difference between a prime Tyson punching you and a Lewis punching you. I think that Vitali has never been hit the way Tyson use to hit.
This wouldn't be an easy task for Tyson, Manny had Vitali working on stiffening his jab and his balance even with Stewards guidance a prime Tyson stop Vitali in the Championship rounds.
Thanks for the question C
Prime Tyson would definitely have trouble against Vitali. Viatli is an intelligent, adaptive-reactive boxer with one of the best chins I have ever seen in my life and he could crack in his prime, he's a head2head nightmare for any heavyweight in history.
In the 80's Mike Tyson was a force of nature but he didn't knock out every opponent so what makes people think he would knock out Vtiali Klitschko? I think Vitali would have the intelligence to weather the early storm and possibly use his physical attributes to take over the fight in the mid rounds.
I agree, Mike Tysons ascension to the heavyweight title was not a high point in the heavyweights. If anything he fought boxing competition slightly lower than Rocky Marciano's. Unless you want to consider James "Bonecrusher" Smith a true talent, in which case Id get up and walk off the conversation with you.
I dont agree that Tyson would KO EITHER brother. First that disparity of size is hard to dispute. 6'6 and 6'7 is a world apart from 5'9-5'10. When someone 6'6 takes a step back, you have to take four to make up the distance. Thats alot of jabs and straight leads coming down on you.
The angle is relevent too. Tyson would have to fight blind, both his hands in front of his face and not really able to look up much. Punches hurt, punches coming DOWNWARD hurt more (force plus gravity) and any punches thrown from either brother, left or straight leads would be coming down on top of his head, making his neck VERY soft, also making it more painful to bob and weave.
Another reason and a VERY important reason I dont think that Tyson would own Wlad is where Wlad is suspect, his chin. Tyson literally had to come off the canvas (jumping) to swing and MISS against Lennox Lewis. And Lewis is only 6'4. Tyson may get to Wlad's body, but not his head. When Wlad was knocked out it was by guys comparable in size (IE Corey Sanders). Wlad seems to be in the condition to withstand a body attack. I dont know that Tyson is in the condition to take hits from an athletic 240 lb man.
Either way, Tyson loses.
The only person a "prime" Tyson beat was an over the hill Larry Holmes, and a smaller Michael Spinks Otherwise it was a bumb of the month club. I am not so sure Tyson could survive against Vitali. I'd take Vitali in a 7th round KO..
tyson didn't have trouble with tall fighters he ko'd plenty of 6'5 guys . vitali has never been in with a fighter like tyson with his speed ,tyson would get inside vitali and start to bust up vitali from the first bell with hooks and uppercuts . vitali strengths would be his down fall he would trade with tyson and this would lead to tyson winning in 6/7 rds by ko.
Tyson will KO wladimir? that remains to be seen yet...Wladimir has the skills, brute strength and the height is legimitate 6'7...damn....He has a great jab, good footwork, long arms and has power...I dont think its a given fact that mike would KO wladimir...Its true that wladimir has a weak chin, but damn he is 6'7...hahaha...Mike would be having a hard time reaching the chin since wladimir will not stand infront of him, run, run thrown jabs, run run, throw jab...Use his brute strength to tackle mike everytime he gets closer....
As to viltai, its the same...Vitali has a chin, he also has the power...I dont think he will stand infront of mike...He will use his jab, height, footwork to beat mike....Its a good fight since vitali is known to take risk because he has a great chin...
most of the people tyson fought in his prime were taller than him. the problem with vitali is, would tyson be able to reach him lol i think with tyson's head movement, klistchko would find it hard to hit him and would eventually get fatigued and lose
Wladimir would get KO'd, but Vitali has a solid chin, he took Lewis' best shots no problem. So he could take a tyson hook. Tyson had trouble with taller fighters, Vitali is a tower. I get the feeling people will back tyson just because they are american or they think he's "cool" but I'm an unbiased boxing fan. Vitali has Mike. As would Lewis I think.
