I've never done any sports in my life before doing boxing. When I told parents one day that I want to start boxing, they were baffled by it. At first they didn't take it seriously, but I just told them "I want to box." My parents are very strict on education so they were little bit hesitant, but I just asked sincerely and I showed my hard work ethics in the boxing gym when they allowed me to go.
Just tell your dad you want to seriously try boxing for couple of weeks, and if you don't like it then you can hang up the gloves, if you like doing it then keep training
what you should do is get the cute begging eyes going. go to your dad and say that now that you are getting older you are going to learn how do defend your self. but before you say anything, do research. look up gymes near by, get a job a say that you will pay for the first month and show him that you are really going to do it. This shows him that you are responsible enough to keep your word. You said that your dad is very serious about it? tell him that you are doing it for ur own self defense not for becoming an all star athlete. lie a little. but that way he can get mad if you decide to quit.
Hey dad.
"I wanna try boxing"..
Since its boxing he'll like it ..
Okaii so you'd probably think i could just go 'hey dad i wanna start boxing ' but its kinda different from that cause ive tried a lot of sports and never liked them and my dad takes sports a bit to serious . So should i just secretly start boxing , i just dunno what to say to him , i think he's gonna laugh or look like im having a joke with him which keeps putting me off telling him . So any advice please would be awesome thanks :) ... I dunno if this helps but im a 15y/o girl
