This question has a lot of possible answers. Here are a few.
Some people make the mistake of thinking that Heart is some intangible quality that fighters are born with. They view fighters like Marciano, Frazier, Gatti, guys with little talent but who never knew "quit", and think of what heart these guys have.
Heart is something that is actually Learned and Developed. It is not something you're born with. I'll give some examples that I hope will help you understand.
Look at a non-swimmer. Do you think that one human has the natural ability to swim while the other doesn't? It is widely believed that Blacks aren't good swimmers. A little known fact is that Whites are better equipped for swimming because of their wider chest cavities, which allows better breathing techniques in water. However, the main reason a lot of Blacks aren't good swimmers is the ingrained belief many have that they can't. If your parents grew up afraid of water, chance are you will too.

Rocky Marciano was no boxer and neither was Joe Frazier. Yet they both fought through adversity and won. Rocky was the eldest of his parent's children. He grew up watching his father labor in factories. Through tears, he vowed never to live the same and to always fight for his family. That drove him throughout his career, the blood and injuries. He distrusted banks and managers and feared only that he would end up like his father.
.
Frazier was the youngest of a very large family. He worked alongside his one-armed father, becoming his figurative "left hand". He was as "poor and black" as a man could be by American standards. He had every reason to Fail, to Not Live, except that he was still alive.
Frazier had No reason to Live
Marciano had Every reason to Not want to Die
.
You could argue that both are the same but each statement has SO many different meanings.
HEART comes from your experiences.
A man who has never been punched in the face Fears of it.
A man who has been punched in the face never forgets it.
However, it gets easier each time. There is always the Fear. The difference is that the experienced guy deals with it better than the novice.
.
Two guys are observing the new girl who just walked in the room. Both like her but one lacks the Heart to approach her. Let's assume that both bring the same to the table. There are no vast differences in appearance. Both are tall, handsome and have good jobs or come from well-off families. The difference is that one lacks the heart to approach her because he's not used to having to deal with failure. All the while, the other doesn't worry about such failures.
.
I've seen so many examples of Heart or Lack of heart.
.
Can you train a fighter to do what Sugar Ray Leonard did in round 13 against Thomas Hearns? Leonard was losing, behind on all three cards when, suddenly, he landed a right that staggered Hearns. Then Ray unleashed a multitude of punches from every conceivable angle, including over his head, to the taller Hearns, and drove Hearns through the ropes.... You can't teach that. It comes from prior experiences, the Will to do Whatever Must Be Done.
.
Heart is the ability to block out the Fear of Failure or any other reasons one might have to consider failure. It is the refusal to accept Failure or Defeat. It is what helps you do that extra mile, that One More rep.
.
There are so many examples. I hope this helps.
Everyone has heart man I know cuz I'm an amatuer boxer and in boxing you always show heart
Why don't you ask your grandad to take you to a boxing gym
You can't gain heart , heart is when your determined to fight and don't refuse to lose , and will do whatever it takes to win
Fighters with small heart : Victor Ortiz , Zab Judah, David Haye
Fighters with big hearts : Ricky Burns, Amir Khan, marcos Maidana
heart is the abillity to overcome adversity through grit and determination.
courage is standing up to adversity in the firstplace however couage can also be the abillity to walk away from adversity.
listen mate.all that "what you lookin at" stuff is bs.it stems from insecurity's and feeling that you need to prove yourself.
when you are grown up enough to realise this you won't feel the need to do it or agknoledge it from others but instead ignore the childish insecure bollux
however sometimes confrontation occurs anyway as there is only so muchyou can do to avoid these d!ckheads in life. you should have the courage to stand your ground and defend yourself if need be.when you realise that you have the courage to stand up for yourself you will then realise you have the courage to walk away

My grandad said stop showing fear and fight back and have heart. How do you get heart, he said we're human!?
