Motivation is only temporary. It's what starts you to work out. It doesn't keep you there; just gets you there. Determination, however, is what keeps you there. Motivation is physical; it gets your blood flowing. Determination is on a much deeper level than just getting blood flowing. It's founded upon your main reasons as to why you train in the first place. I'm not saying you have to start training in boxing again, I'm just saying if you love training like it's your life, then you'd train like it were your life.
If you do decide to get back on track though, don't immediately go back to your training. Start off small and slowly build your way up back to where you were.* Also, don't train for more than 20 hours a week. The average professional/world class athlete trains for that long, and if you go any farther than that, your risk of overtraining goes through the roof.
Watch boxing films like Ali, rocky or the champ. Also watch big fights like mayweather/ Alvarez. That should fire u up again. Also watch a video on youtube called, 'boxing highlight video 2 - ready to fight'
Watch films of what others have accomplished with hard training. Just type in boxing highlight reels.
I know this isn't what you want to hear but the only person who can motivate yourself is you?
If you really want it you need no motivation.
push yourself to get back out. once you're out you'll enjoy it.
Just do it and stop talking about it damn.
I've been doing boxing about 9 months, when it got to the end of august I pulled my neck and stayed from doing any exercise, now I want to get back to it a month later because my neck is better but I just can't push myself past my comfort zone anymore. For the whole 9 months I trained hard and pushed and pushed which would lead to a week off every now an then feeling a bit over trained.. About a week ago I started getting back into it and now I feel extremely weak and tired and lazy, is this just in my head, am I still overtrained, is my body just stopped being used to the demands needed, will I gain motivation back? I still want to be a boxer but its like I can't train hard anymore.. Please can someone give me some motivation and comment what they think has happened to me, thanks
