Hard to tell at this point but historically, Boxing as had 1000s of more deaths than MMA(yeah we all know the sport is still new) while MMA only had approximately 2-4 deaths in total history.
No deaths a year in pro boxing or amateur boxing because there is a referee that steps in if it becomes dangerous. Same goes for MMA. In the streets there are deaths..
there have been quite a few in boxing in the past. don t know about mma dont really watch or follow it. some british boxer died earlier this year a few days after he was rushed to the hospital after a fight. not a lot die in the ring but a lot have problems later on in life because of boxing
