Matthysse can definitely be beaten. His losses to Judah and Alexander were definitely controversial and should have gone to him, BUT they do show that movement, quickness and a decent punch can befuddle him and keep a fight close. His big weakness is movement. If Mathysse could gain some foot speed and slightly better movement, he would be unstoppable.
I think you give Garcia too much credit. He is a very good fighter, but he does not possess all of the qualities you have bestowed upon him. He is not slick and he is not fast. He does everything well, but nothing special. If Garcia gets caught against Matthysse, I don't think he would have the ability to hold him off. He didn't seem to show it when he fought Judah, and Judah is not nearly the puncher that Matthysse is.

Matthysse is not an exceptionally talented or slick boxer, but the man has 35 fights, only two losses (which, see above) and 32 knockouts. He has to be doing something special because he is not being matched up with bums.
You'd have to be a ridiculously good boxer to beat Matthysse. That's the only way to beat him.
Stand in front of Matthysse, you get crushed. Seriously, the only person w/ the skill to outpoint him and stay disciplined/not exchange for 12 rounds is a guy like Floyd.
I thought Matthysse beat both Zab and Devon Alexander. The Judah fight was close, the DA fight wasn't IMO.
Either way, he's improved since both those fights. He's more aggressive and less apt to be outboxed. Nobody from 140-147lb can outbox Matthysse, besides Mayweather.
Only way Matthysse can be beaten is by boxing him for 12 rounds withought getting hit. Very hard to do.

The ONLY guy I think could be Mathysse is Mayweather. Reason being that Mayweather has the skill to box for twelve rounds and because of Mathysse's not so good boxing technique, should be easy to avoid getting for Mayweather. Problem is that just ONE Mathysse punch can end it all! Even if you have an iron-chin...
Mayweather could win easily agains't Matthyse because of his sorta rusty technique but if Mathysse lands just ONE, only ONE big punch... Mayweather lost his undefeated record..
After what I just witnessed today, I believe that best possible fights are:
$$$ wise= Canelo vs Mayweather- Both are huge names
Excitement wise= Mathysse vs Mayweather- The king of defense vs the king of K.O.s

Problem with Peterson was himself.
Peterson literally got too close and didnt use his reach enough to outbox Matthyese who always tried to get in.
The way I see it, Peterson could've won using footwork to keep moving and hitting as Matthyese tried to close in.
If Garcia does that, I believe he could beat Matthyese. And Garcia is way too slick and fast to not know this blueprint.
