Honestly answer: Hard work makes great fighters?

Yes. I think the best example here is Rocky Marciano. He was too small to be a heavyweight at 185 lbs. He was slow and had no conceivable skill other than his powerful punch. But he worked hard, trained hard and beat quite a number of great heavyweights, became champion and retired undefeated.

Honest answer. To be a great fighter, you HAVE to put in hard work. But, you also have to have talent and physical attributes.

If you just have hard work without talent, then you will eventually plateau.

Think about the movie Rudy. That kid tried so hard. Yes, he did participate in a couple plays in the very last game. However, despite his hard work and effort, he couldn't become a starter for his team. He also couldn't make it to the pros.

Same situation in boxing. Hard work will take you places, but at the highest levels of boxing, you will see guys who have been training since they were kids, had storied amateur and Olympic experience, uncanny physical attributes and they work hard too.

It depend what you mean by hard work. To be a great fighter you need to be comfortable in the ring. If you put 1 guy who has an amazing body from working his *** on the gym against a chubby dude who is comfortable in the ring thus makes less mistakes, i'll bet on the fat chubby guy.

Still; hard work can entail this. Hard work can entail doing ring work to thus get used to fighting/boxing.

I feel that there are three essential parts to a great boxer. Someone who:

1. trains to the max,

2. has flawless (or nearly so) boxing technique, and,

3. heart.

Yes but everyone has a natural talent

Corie Sanders didn't train hard and that made for explosive fights cause he ran out of gas

my coach always said boxing is 60% heart and 40% fists. put that hard work in and be dedicated and you'll be better than anyone that is put in your path. but stay dedicated and humble, when you get cocky is when you get taken down

You'll never know unless you work your hardest.

Im talking about pure. pure. hard work.

Of course everyone has their own talent and its impossible to have none. Some people have speed, power, etc.

But some people like Carl Froch work their *** off more than anyone in the sport and try to show skills.

What I am asking is, even if you have the lowest amount of talent, will hard work make you a great fighter?
