Mayweather is not gonna be able to hurt Canelo the guy is natrually around 170 and is gonnna weigh 160+ on fight night.
with that being said this should be an easy fight for floyd. Unless Canelo improves vastly from his last fight which might happen because between lopez and Trout i seen much improvement in his game.
I think it's a bunch of BS. Floyd's resume & staying power is a lot more impressive than Pacquiao, Martinez, or Golovkin. There will always be fighters who people will say he shoulda fought or "ducked" but truth of the matter is that you can say that about practically any boxer. Remember it takes TWO sides to negotiate and come to terms on a deal, it's especially difficult if there's bad blood like there clearly is between Arum & his former client Mayweather or fueds between promoters like Golden Boy vs Top Rank or if a fighter is locked into a network like Showtime or HBO. As for "finally" picking a dangerous opponent.....same exact comments were made when he signed to fight Mosley, Ortiz, etc. Just go search an article about those fights and you'll see people were saying the same exact thing they're saying now about Alvarez being SO dangerous. Problem is when the fight does come around and Mayweather makes it look ridiculously easy, they'll start up the excuses such as his opponent was too old, too small, not experienced enough, too slow, etc. I fully expect that if Mayweather beats Alvarez fairly easily as he's been accustomed to, people will say Alvarez wasn't ready or that he had no stamina and that he was avoiding Matthysse.......then if he does the same with Matthysse, they'll say he should have fought Martinez. It never ends. People just dislike Mayweather & come up with the most bone-headed excuses. Bottom line is that there have been a bunch of boxers that came & went during Mayweather's dominance. Some he's beaten, some he never had the chance to get in the ring with mainly because they simply haven't been as good as long as he has and a boxer can only take a certain number of fights per year. Like it or not, Mayweather dominated boxing for almost two decades. No one else currently fighting has.
No doubt about this one, Alvarez is as dangerous as it gets, even Mayweather haters must respect Floyd for this opponent. If Mayweather wins this one, it ends all questions as to Floyd's status.
man guerrero is faster than canelo and looked what happened...
and you'll be needing the experience cotto has to hurt floyd w/c canelo doesnt have
the only advantage canelo has is his weight at 154, you take it down to 152, it will affect his stamina if he goes 170 on fightnight, i dont even think he can land a bomb on mayweather in the early rounds cuz floyd is too fast... it's the end of him if he fails to do so cuz in the later rounds, he'll be slower and drained.
his only option is to step in the ring lighter than what he is used to...he'll lose his hard punches, and thats it, i dont think he'll be able to catch floyd even on lighter weight...canelo w/o any hope of winning... what kind of fight is this???? ok catchweight fight
Canelo Alvarez is indeed a dangerous foe for Floyd, one who has steadily been improving with the increasing quality of his recent opponents. He will be the most dangerous foe since Castillo, ODLH, Mosley and Cotto.
Heck yeah....although some say Canelo is not fully into his prime yet.
I have Canelo pulling the upset. He beated a great Trout fish good.
im just imagining the size difference, floyd best punches wont even move his head.
Gonna need floyds best ever performance IMO
No Canelo is not the product the mexican mass media wants to sell
Floyd's fighting Canelo? When?
Ok so I'm a fan again... Just give me a link before I change my mind.lol
When the sky turns purple Floyd will lose
I thought that Floyd Mayweather's last 5 fights would all be hand picks like Devon Alexander, Timothy Bradley, Lucas Matthysse.....but I'm kind of shocked at this decision after seeing how long he's been supposedly ducking Pacquiao and Sergio Martinez.
I don't think this fight is as dangerous as Pacquiao, Martinez, or Golovkin.....but I'm still respectful of Mayweather's decision. Especially since Alvarez should be coming in with a 20 pound weight advantage....which is one of the tools to beating Mayweather. He might be able to get in the inside and slow Mayweather down with some hard body punches.
And I don't think Mayweather's punching power will be able to hurt Alvarez much either.
