Greb was that great but having no footages of his fights really affected his legacy that much. He was to me at par with the greatest.Number one in the pound for pound was never a far fetched and anyone could make a case for him. The series against Tunney was without among the classic battles although again without the film to support. Harry had to fight half blind half his career and considering he nailed some great fights during the time, one have to wonder how far would he have gone to with both healthy eyes. Numero uno? Most probably. There's Robinson and he could have edged Greb but not by a long shot.
Yes kids nowadays think Floyd Mayweather is the best ever , but they never heard of Robinson, Greb, Pep, Armstrong etc
Most young people and not just sports fans do not appreciate anyone that was active before they were born.
Since there are no movies of Harry it is almost impossible to know exactly how good he was, even his record does not tell the whole story.
Even though he should be near the top of the all time list, those that saw him and Sugar Ray Robinson rank Robinson higher, so he would be number two not number one.
Not sure there is a greatest of all time. Ali, Robinson, Pep were all top notch...Greb has been forgotten.
now why is it that most youth of today aint got a damn clue who the greatest ever fighter was? I say its cause they too busy playin basketball and snorting crack to read a book. maybe if that stupid rapper Dr dru made a song about him maybe then they'd know who he was! where's the REAL boxing fans at and where do ya'll think greb sits on the P4P list? numero uno says me!
