Oh yes I do.
Here's a pic from Wilder's fight with Harold Sconiers, a journeyman who knocked down Wilder pretty badly, the fight was almost stopped: http://www.dominicserna.com/Boxing/Profe...
He was also knocked out in the amateurs.
So yes, that is very believable. GREAT power, powder puff chin thanks to skinny legs.
Let's not forget that Audley Harrison is a former Olympic gold medalist ,in the olymipcs he fought with head gear and large gloves just like in sparring ,perhaps Harrison is that olympic gold medalist that we got to know while wearing the headgear and large gloves.
Deontay Wilder on the other hand ,it's best that he got dropped in sparring and not in an actual match and it's good experience ,but even Mike Tyson got dropped in sparring when he was in his prime.
As long as Wilder got dropped due to being off balance and not do to having a glass jaw ,the 2 knockdowns he suffered isn't such a bad sign of things to come for him.
Sparring is sparring.
Boxers like me in here will tell you it's NOT FIGHTING. It's SPARRING.
Who knows if Harrison was going all out? Who knows if Wilder was working on something? Who knows?
Sparring is a time to work on parts of your game. I've been ROCKED by some lighter sparring partners before. But could they beat me in a real fight, hellz no!
Typical fight hype. Out of all of the people that watch these sparring sessions and only one guy that wants to remain anonymous supposedly says this? I've heard this or something similar a hundred times before a big fight that isn't getting any attention.
If anyone believes this, E mail me. I've got a bridge for sale.
I don't believe it some one is trying to drum up more money for the fight. If this had happened Wilder's people would not let him fight this guy no matter how old he is. I would bet money this never happened. Guys get knocked down and out all the time in sparring but when they do they don't go out and fight the guy who knocked them out.
It happens, at 50 plus John Tate KOed Mike Tyson in a sparring match.
Probably. If it's true, then Wilder has absolutely no business in being in top 20 and should just continue beating up 40 year old, former middleweight, cab driving bums.
Do you believe this story?
