Rigondeaux is more of a passive defender who relies on his solid defense and the mistakes and ineptness of his opponents.
Pep was more of a well-rounded fighter with great defensive abilities with his active and energetic movements and maneuvers around the ring which also allowed him to initiate actions, to land first and avoid being hit in return and to counter beautifully with combinations.
Even Rigo's personality is catatonic compared to the spry and lively Will of the Wisp.

I'd go with Pep because he's a lot tougher, and, despite his rep as a defensive fighter, the guy could dish it out too on offense. He knew how to fight from the distance, but could certainly brawl if need be.

Rigo, like Gamboa and most Cuban boxers are short distance amateur boxers. Rigo just hasn't been exposed for his bad stamina or his short distance amateurish skills like Gamboa got when facing someone real.
