What is up with this group? Who has Golovkin beaten? Macklin? Jr Middleweight Rosado? Sergio is a top 10 pound for pound fighter. He has fought real opponents. He has beateb guys with power, like Pavlik and Chavez... Til Golovkin beats a real elite opponent, I am with Sergio. Golovkin needs to beat proving himself vs Pirog or Quillin, not Martinez
Golovkin easily because of his youth and power advantage. Perhaps if the fight were a couple of years ago I'd say that Martinez would have had a chance to beat him with his reflexes, speed, ring generalship (by decision.) Now he's too fragile to take punches from anyone specially Triple G. If the fight were made count on Golovkin taking out the boxing vet out in less than 5 rounds.
I think Golovkin wins. Martinez has had a good run but he is getting old, his legs are damaged, his hands are damaged, and he keeps leaving his guard down. If he was younger and could learn to fight smarter than that, I would say he punishes Golovkin. Even now that is a possibility but Golovkin has monstrous power and Martinez fights with his arms down.
If this was the Maravilla of lets say 2010, I'd lean towards Sergio. But Sergio has been showing signs of decline his last few fights (got a gift decision against Murray IMO) and has been knocked down by his last 3 opponents, 3 opponents who don't have the power of Golovkin. Also Sergio reminds me of Roy Jones who relied on his superior athleticism and reflexes to win fights, but now that his reflexes are starting to slip Sergio would be ripe for the picking especially with that low guard of his.
I got GGG by TKO. In fact, I think GGG would "good boy" ANY fighter between 154-160.

It boils down to this: The 1 all-time great attribute Martinez used in combination with his avg to above avg. ranking in everything else has failed him the last 3 fights. What is that all-time great attribute? STAMINA! I have no doubt Martinez has the skill to get things done against GGG, but he can no longer perform 12rds of wizardry and that's a recipe for disaster when fighters aren't power punchers.
Golovkin would turn Martinez into the number three prostitute in all of Kazakhstan

Even if Martinez is healthy and was in his prime i really don't think he can win against GGG the guy stalks you. He has a great fighting style hurt them before they can hurt me and its worked every time. Its hard to out box a guy when your running for your life in fear of getting knocked out.
