He passes the test, but he looked gassed and got dominated in the championship rounds by a guy who was 10 years older than him. His defense also was suspect. Zab caught him a lot. He just couldn't hurt him til late. I feel as though if he is fighting Luscas Matthysse... He will be in trouble, because he is too hittable.
I gave his performance a C and here's why.
Pros- Fought Zab in his backyard. Stuck to the body punching. Showed good chin and heart. Landed some good hooks.
Cons- Fought an outdated Zab Judah and began looking bad towards the latter rounds. Didn't use his jab at all. Showed defensive lapses at times. Doesn't have elite level speed.
Outlook- I think Danny Garcia is a very good fighter but I think once he steps up competition he will begin losing. He will be like Paulie Malliginali in the sense that he can beat anybody and everybody until he steps in the ring with a top level fighter, then he gets worked.
Final Verdict- Hard fought win. Glad Judah didn't get knocked out. They both hugged it out like champions.
Garcia started out great and controlled most of the fight.Zab showed me and everybody else a lot tonight. He was a little craftier than i thought he was,and battled back, which is very unlike him.The only problem is that Zab didn't throw enough punches in those last few rounds.I thought he let Garcia off the hook when he had him in trouble.Zab should have used the right hook a little more after it landed pretty well a couple of times.Garcia deserved the win and is a tough kid but guys like Matthyse and Peterson will probably beat him.A 35 year old Judah gave this kid all he could handle, and to me,that means top guys will beat him.
Not really. Zab is an old 35 and was considered to be finished and way past his prime two years ago, and Garcia wasn't able to finish him when he had him hurt on more than one occasion. He's lucky it took Zab a long time to figure him out otherwise he would have been in a lot more trouble.
He's a mediocre fighter at best, who capitalized on his victory over a big name in Amir Khan. I don't know how much longer his handlers can keep putting him in the ring with these old fighters, the fact that they chose Judah after a second bout with Morales just shows how little confidence they have in the guy facing someone in their prime.
I don't feel he's ready yet. It seems to me like danny garcia throws anything and that anything luckily at times it hits. He's pretty slow as well. I give credit to zab judah for staying on his foot after all that.
If only khan could take those punches and still stay up that would be awesome lol.
As I have said many times. Garcia is good. He is nothing special, but he does everything well enough. He has a ceiling and like others have said, Judah exposed it. I would like to see him against someone with more pop like Matthysse or Maidana (although I think he moved up to 147). He may get better, but he looked a bit stiff and robotic. I think that he can be beat by a slicker boxer with a little pop, or by a pressure fighter who you have to beat down to win.
Honestly thought that Garcia would wreck Judah, but Judah showed a bunch of heart. Gotta give him that.
garcia is nothing to be impressed by.he is not elite and he is not a future hall of famer
Danny Garcia withstood a late surge by the skilful Judah.... I tip my hat to the guy.
Judah was always a potential banana skin for Garcia, and his Father didn't help matters.
Negative points: Danny Garcia can be exposed, he gets tired in the latter rounds
Positive points: Danny Garcia is one tough son of a gun!
How did you rate his performance guys??
