I think GGG is legit. I know he hasn't done anything that good yet, and his resume is thin, but he's a beast offensively and was a ridiculous amateur.

Abraham would've always got his asss kicked by Pavlik, and was never THAT good IMO. Golovkin is getting hype for a good reason, b/c of his style/amateur background, although people need to chill w/ the level of hype he's getting. Let's let him run through some real opposition first.
I agree that here in the US good white fighters are very uncommon, which makes them marketable and appealing to promoters/media.
Even though Pavlik was by no means a sh*tty fighter...he was hyped up too much after crushing Taylor. I remember Ring Magazine calling him, "the White Tommy Hearns" adn I had to shake my head at that.
I like Golovkin a lot. He didn't f*ck around and fight soft competition in Europe his whole career, he's made the move to come to the US, fight on HBO and face the best competition.
Obviously he hasn't faced the best, but he's continually fighting better competition at a pretty fast rate, especially considering he just came to the US last fall. Macklin isn't the greatest, but he's no bum.
GGG fought Kassim Ouma like three years ago in a sick fight, that's when I first thought he was for real and not just a total hype job for superficial reasons.
Yea I remember the were calling Kelly the next hitman Hearns. GGG has power and skills, to be honest he looks like the real deal.
I'm not hyping the dude up cause he didn't prove he's the face of 160. But he didn't prove he's just another over hyped prospect yet either. Give him sometime before you judge him. He's neutral in my eyes and can either go up or down in the ranks.
ggg is half Korean half Russian so he aint no great white hope.Plus this is the same guy who beat Andre Derrell in the amatuer one who used to be the best American middle prospect.
All those people in the words of Roger Mayweathe, don't know **** about boxing. I don't buy into the hype because I have yet to see anything from Golovkin that shows me he is something much more than raw power.
The only reason "fans" hype him up is because he is nice and humble. Also because he has power but if he was cocky and arrogant, those very same "fans" would be saying he hasn't done anything.
I really hate to be the one to break the news to you guys but white fighters will never be as good as black fighters . It has nothing to do with there color it has everything to do with attitude. Just like basketball, football, track and field this is just a fact. White people get caught up on color I know you guys would love to have a white guy that could really fight but it is NEVER going to happen.
I judge every boxer on his potential and his merits.

i remember in '07 how much love this guy was getting....how he was the "New Face" of the 160 division after blowing through the usual suspects.
but all the media blowing smoke up his @ss couldn't save him from the whoopin he took at the hands of B-Hop, who was just a broken down old 45 year old man. Where is Pavlik now? what has he done ever since??
