Would have been a great fight! People often use what Foreman did to Frazier as a similar blueprint as to how he'd beat Tyson, but while Mike and Joe were similar in stature, they were completely different fighters. Prime Tyson was hard to hit cleanly as he bobbed and weaved to slip shots and would explode on the inside. Frazier had an up and down rhythm and would wing the left hook, plus Mike was faster, had better footwork, and had more in his arsenal than Frazier. Mike had a great left hook, an equally great right hand, and a killer uppercut, while Frazier basically had one punch you had to worry about, and that was his explosive left hook.
All that being said. I think Foreman would still beat Mike if both are in their primes. Foreman would not have been intimidated by Tyson, and would survive an early Tyson onslaught to stop Mike by round 6.
Slim chance that Tyson would ever have been able to whip Foreman. Young George or old George.
Young Foreman would KO Tyson just like he did Frazier and old Foreman was even better. Foreman gave Holyfield tons of trouble when Holyfield was in his prime, and we all know what happened between Evander and Tyson. Foreman was just too strong. Too smart. Too acurate with his power punches. Tyson couldn't carry Foreman's jock strap. Ever.
The Foreman that fought Frazier would annihilate Tyson.
As good as Tyson was, he just wouldn't have any answers to Foreman's pushing, pulling, and manhandling tactics. Foreman actually had some subtle technical moves that most people overlook. For every chance Tyson gets to land on a wide open Foreman, there are 10 chances for Foreman to maul, uppercut, and brutalize Tyson.
Foreman would stop him in the 3rd round.
All i know is Mike Tyson was scared to fight even an old George Foreman. Cuz Foreman started asking for a fight with Tyson, but somehow it didn't happen. Tyson also avoided Lennox Lewis for many years. I'm sure only Tyson knew why he avoided these fighters.
There was even a press conference with the both of them together and Tyson uppercutted Foreman in the chin. Try to find it on Youtube.
But don't forget that it took Holyfield forever to beat Foreman. It was like younger brother Holyfield vs older brother Foreman, old and fat. You could just tell that Foreman was just too tough and strong compared to both Holyfield and Tyson.
George Foreman was superior to Mike Tyson in every respect.
G foreman was really good in the past but mike tyson is really good at boxing also
i think tyson would stop him in about 7 or 8 rounds. i think his hand speed and ability to punch in devastating combinations would be the difference. foreman could hurt tyson, but i think he would have been too slow to do any real damage before tyson got to him.
Tyson
tyson would destroy him within 5 rds.....foreman was big and powerful but pensive...he had spells even in the early rds where he would just start thinking too much...even in his prime...he got away with it with frazier who was also a slow starter but no way against prime tyson (1988ish) who would be all over him...if however it got to the very late rds it could get more even...money wise it would have to be tyson.
foreman hes too big too strong for tyson
who would you have your money on,george foreman or mike tyson both in their prime???
Mike Tyson no doubt about that!
Mike Tyson. Too much power. And in his prime he was an animal. Literally...he wanted to kill you and eat your children.
