Most people remember Michael Moorer later in his career when he got KO by George Foreman and David Tua but the truth is those men are much bigger than Michael. His record against Evander Holyfield is 1-1. So he did well against men that are the same size with him. He was a great puncher at Lightheavyweight. Floyd Patterson is slightly smaller than him and Floyd has a weak chin. It's going to be just like the Ingo vs Patterson first fight with Double M testing Floyd chin and stop him in round 7.
I don't think Moorer's chin could have held up, but the question really would have been could Moorer get to Floyd first. Patterson would have been the favorite and Moorer a live underdog in a barn burner, one thing for sure is this one wouldn't have gone the distance, one of them would get KOed.
Patterson is much too fast for Moorer, and has a better punch.
He would stop Moorer in less than 10 rounds.
Patterson would knock Moorer out in 8. Floyd would be too fast, too slick and too skilled for Moorer. And he could hit too with that "kangaroo punch" that knocked Johansson out.
