Earnie Shavers wins easily. He's considered the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time, by greats such as Ali and Larry Holmes.
Floyd Patterson was a small heavyweight. He should have really fought at light heavyweight in my honest opinion. Although Floyd had the fastest hands, he didn't have the strongest chin.
He got destroyed by Sonny Liston twice. Earnie Shavers hit a lot harder than Sonny.
Earnie Shavers would destroy Floyd Patterson. Shavers was perhaps the hardest puncher in boxing history. This fight would only last a round or two. This would be a replica of what Sonny Liston did to Floyd twice. The big puncher to the glass chin equals early knockout. Floyd would be lucky to get into the second round on this one.
The glass jaw of Patterson would be shattered if hit by any punch from Shavers.
Unless Falling Floyd could avoid being hit for 15 rounds he can not win this fight. If he is able to avoid being hit he wins.
Floyd Patterson was faster, had better offense and defense, but he lacked a chin. The fight would start looking like Patterson was in a different level [in his prime] but Shavers would put him to sleep.
