Roy Jones JR in his prime is too unorthodox powerful and fast for Floyd in his prime. But Floyd defence skills are fantastic too. I predict that Roy will slowly pick Floyd apart and get through his defence for the first 7 rounds before opening up and knocking him down. RJJ by TKO within 10 rounds.
To the guy giving his opinion that roy was overated I got 1? For you name one fighter Floyd fought who was a hof and in his prime ..... thats what I thought none zero.. what did you just start watching boxing two days ago .. RJJ easy .......
No one beats a prime Roy Jones Jr. no one out side of catching him and Floyd wouldn't have the one punch power but a prime Roy Jones Jr. wasn't at 154
I doubt Mayweather would see the third round even with all his slipping and running, Roy Jones was too much to fast and too strong and unorthodox. Roy Jones Jr. wins tko!
A total mis match, Floyd would have had no chance against Roy Jones at Roy's peak Roy was bigger, faster and much stronger than Floyd. Mayweather woudn't have lasted more than a couple rounds before getting KOed.
RJJ once said, " Throw out the size and age, I'd beat Mayweather. But Pacquiao? A different animal."
Yes I believe Roy when he says he will beat Floyd.
RJJ fought heavyweight so this question is lame. Mayweather is MUCH smaller. lbs for lbs overall skill, Mayweather > RJJ. If you don't think so, you're wrong! Picture RJJ at age 36 (sucked) and did you see how sharp and how much "boxing" skill Mayweather just displayed 2 weeks ago? Not even close! Once RJJ lost his speed (which he relied on) he lacked boxing skills to keep winning-FACT.
lol @ whoever said nobody beats a prime RJJ.
Let me clear some things up. RJJ has a great video. RJJ has great youtube highlights. RJJ looks fast as hell and like a beast. BUT HE FOUGHT NOBODY!!!
IDC what you all say, I love RJJ and grew up watching ALL his fights. He's a tad overrated in my opinion. AS SOON AS HE LOST SOME SPEED, IT'S LIKE, HE NEVER WON AGAIN.
RJJ is an all-time great, but watch his knockout video (which I bought to study) and you'll see he's fighting nobodies looking that awesome.
The ONLY reason why RJJ said that about Mayweather is BECAUSE HE'S JEALOUS AS PHUCK OF MAYWEATHER. Mayweather made more this year than RJJ made his ENTIRE CAREER. During his career, me and a ton of other boxers/fans couldn't understand why he wasn't fighting better fighters. Talk about someone who dodged peeps and faced weak opponents. That's RJJ. For those of you that never understood why he didn't make money and wasn't a bigger star. That's why.
Sick of peeps thinking RJJ was the best. LOL...As a boxer, that's laughable. The average fan overrates boxers ALL THE TIME cause they are flashy, fast or knock people out.
LMFAO @ the person with the essay saying Roy was a tad bit overrated and says he wasn't as good as ppl say. My dude I also grew up watching Roy Jones Jr fight since he became relevant as a pro (1995). And to say the least all the people who say on here that he was unbeatable in his prime are correct! Besides the superman like skills he possessed he always made his opponents look bad and that's why he gets criticized for fighting nobodies. Yes he's just that good! Count in the fact that there was weak opposition in the light heavyweight division which was his prime years its not his fault he couldn't fight more worthy fighters. He's the last middleweight to win the heavyweight championship and the first ever Jr. Middleweight to win that title..also he was the lineal champ for many years having all the alphabet belts at the same time which never happened today. Klitchko has 3 of the four belts now and he's the only fighter right now in any division tondo that. The accolades are amazing! Hands down he's the best fighter I've ever seen in my generation and not Floyd mayweather!
Dream Match at 154.I think Roy's style would make it difficult for Mayweather. And I predict Roy to win by a 5th Round Ko
