What's up Johnnie! Great question again and in my opinion both of these fighters were at their very best at Light Heavyweight, so good matchup. Ezzard Charles is one of the very best Light Heavyweights of all time, beating many great fighters such as Joey Maxim, Archie Moore, Jersey Joe Walcott, and Joe Louis, plus many others. Dwight Muhammad Qawi was also a very good Light Heavyweight, beating the likes of Matthew Saad Muhammad and Leon Spinks. He also gave Michael Spinks a good fight. However, great as Qawi was, Charles was possibly the best of all time at Light Heavyweight, if not, for sure a Top 5 Light Heavyweight.

That being said, I think the only fighters that could beat Charles at LHW are the four fighters behind him on this list, and possibly Harold Johnson, Roy Jones Jr., and maybe even Bernard Hopkins. But, Qawi would fall short. He would press the action trying to knock Charles out, but Charles is more skilled, and will take a unanimous decision.

Ezzard Charles is considered as the best light heavyweight fighter in boxing history though he never fought for and won a world championship in that division.I think he beats Qawi Braxton by UD or late round TKO. Qawi met his match in Michael Spinks at 175 lbs.who beat him by decision and Evander Holyfield at cruisers who beat him by decision and 4th round KO. He was also beaten on points early in his career by Johnny Davis although he would more than avenge that loss by also outpointing Johnny Davis and stopping his brother Eddie Davis.
