Hello Matt and another brilliant question as usual sir! On the all time p4p rankings these two guys are always near the top and for good reason as their career accomplishments are incredible to say the least. In my own personal all time rankings I have Armstrong as the #3 all time greatest and Pep #4 but I have Armstrong as the #2 all time greatest welterweight behind only Sugar Ray Robinson and Willie Pep as undoubtedly the greatest all time feathwerweight in boxing history. Though Armstrong had his greatest success as a welter, he also as you know won titles in 3 weight divisions including the featherweight division in 1938 as he was already the featherweight Champ having defeated Petey Sarron in 1937 which is widely considered the greatest feat in boxing history. Willie Pep won the featherweight title in 1942 and held on to it until 1948 and won agan in 1948 holding on to it until 1950. To be quite honest with you I could see Armstrong defeating the great Pep because of his relentless pressure style but Pep was one of the most masterful boxers of all time with great defensive skills, smooth ring movement as if he were dancing so htis would have been a distinct contrast in styles between these legendary fighters. I believe it would have been a close and dramatic fight. Pep would have had to utilize all of his great skills and would have had to survive some really difficult rounds vs Armstrong in a very close fight.

Willie Pep W15 by split decision.

Hank would touch Pep and it would be lights out. That's a big IF considering Pep was IMHO the slickest boxer and greatest defensive boxer ever. It just a question really of whether Armstrong will knockout Pep or lose by a unanimous decision. There's no way Willie will hurt HAnk. He'll have to rely on his God given cat quick reflexes and great balance and win a wide UD - outbox the HAmmering Hank or get knock out cold

Henry Armstrong was an offensive machine while Pep was a master defensive boxer. The answer to this question is simple. Offense wins fights so Armstrong, being the superior offensive fighter, should win this dream fight, either by UD or late round stoppage.

honestly i think Henry Armstrong would win, hands down. he was amazing, and i think willie pep was one of the best too, but in my opinion henry armstrong would win in 15 rounds at featherweight no problem.

In his prime Armstrong would out point Pep.

Almost all judges give more credit to the aggressor rather than the defender.

This means that the always punching, and moving forward Armstrong would win, regardless his percentages he throws so many more punches he wins.
