Does shadowboxing increase speed of punches?

I don't know if it increases your punching speed but it is defiantly a great activity to do for 10-15 minutes before you hit the bag, i think it defiantly makes you feel more alert.

You wanna punch fast? Something called plyometrics... I could type a whole book about everything I know about plyo and who it would DEFINITELY help you but nah. Too lazy. Look it up ;)

For starters, just google "plyometrics" so that you know what it is, the basic and stuff. Then, as you learn more about plyo, start searching for drills that help punching speed.

Shadow boxing will not help for speed. The idea of shadow boxing is too practice form and make sure your technique is correct. Not help on speed.

use 2 to 5 lbs dumbells and punch as fast you can with both hands that increased my speed

I've never done it with weights before and I'm just curious.

I am a power puncher like Marciano.

Because I am 5'11 and have a short reach (69 inches)

So I throw hooks, upper cuts, overhands etc .

I have powerful punches , but I would like to gain speed and I know hitting the bag wont do this.

So will shadow boxing increase the speed of my angle punches?
