People have been sh*tting on it from what I've seen, but those people must be ignorant b/c the undercard is solid and filled with exciting matchups.
Canelo does deserve his own PPV though. He's a big draw, the dude is a star in Mexico and definitely can headline his own card.
It won't do anything crazy in terms of PPV buys, but it'll do decent enough numbers (probably like 300K or possibly more).
I'd buy this PPV for sure, assuming I have the funds at the time. Otherwise I'm streaming it.
@shadam: The undercard is looking like this, nothing official yet but very close.
Leo Santa Cruz vs Cristian Mijares
Omar Figueroa vs Ricardo Alvarez (Canelo's brother)
Nihito Arakawa vs Jorge Linares
(Arakawa is the guy who had that sick fight against Omar Figueroa last year)
Like I said, people have been hating on it b/c some of these guys are unknown to a lot of people, but ALL of them are constantly in exciting fight. Every fight will be exciting, I'd bet my bank on that.
Saul alveraz have a Mexican and American fan base so he will become a PPV draw. However, he have to win to have that success.
P.S. I won't mind seeing Alveraz fight Angulo, Cotto, Lara, or Chavez jr. because it will be entertaining.
Yes he has the 3rd largest fan base behind mayweather and pacquiao.
Business wise he might, but look at his resume. Very suspect. It should be Lara vs Canelo. I would buy that.
i dont think so especially against a guy i barely know ill buy it(if theres no mma that night) but just cause in a fight fiend this this is booshoit they better have a legit undercard and in not tryna pay 50
