Yes... A lot.... Depends how hard you get hit too..
So if you're thinking of going boxing, learn to move and avoid punches...
The thing is.. Once you get hit, you get a little more desensitised to it and feel a little more confident.. And as time goes by... You actually begin to learn how to take punches..
I had an amazing coach (he still is)
He knew that everyone is different but his method was standard for everyone...
Learn how to punch... (Showed the technique)
Then learn how to get the right power (on the punch bags)
Then put us in partners (very light technique work minimum power but accuracy was key)
Then finally after 6-8 weeks later in the ring... (Even this was light)
By the time you came to more ring work you actually wanted to box..
Also he knew that the least confident guys would need to condition their bodies first so he got hem to do body boxing (hitting the body only and not hard)
It all depends on your fighting style, your opponent and what gear you are using. If you're using 16 ounce gloves and good headgear it shouldn't be to bad (headgear absorbs 30-40% of the shock). However...if you have a hard hitting opponent and no defense than yes, it will hurt. It always hurts to get hit regardless so proper headgear + gloves can help minimize that damage.
Yes It hurts but after days of getting hit your body gets used to receiving punch/hits like jabs & blows but don't worry if you have this question I also had it when I used to go to a boxing gym/club
Yes but youll get used to it
