Indeed Carl Froch is the better representation of what a good to great British fighter is today.
I had not heard of him until early this year so I youtubed his name and the first video that came up was him uppercutting himself in a fight ( true story have a look).
In terms of talent I think he is a good fighter but relies on that reach and height advantage too much,
I think if he got in the ring with Wlad he would get a reality shock.
But its a fight I would love to see.
I like him.
He reminds me of a young Muhammad Ali. Not by way of skills, but of how cocky he was and how people always wanted him to lose because he was so damn cocky.
I wouldn't underestimate Fury in the Haye fight. I mean, Ali was supposed to get killed in the Liston fight, but look what happened.
He's only known because of a weak point in boxing, any other era he would not of ever been spoken of or even slightly noticed. I think price getting beat did sort of help him because it made him closer to being a contender but I think he's just the average boxer and in a strong boxing era (previous years) he would of been just a journeyman.
I'm British and I don't like tyson fury or froch
'Outside the UK'? No one likes Tyson Fury, not even his own people.
He'll no
We all know the history of lousy sub standard British heavyweights, but it seems this latest bum has generated some excitement across the pond. While I like talking to Brits about the fight game, and many are very well-informed, sometimes they over-hype the heavyweights from the UK. True, it happens in the USA as well, but we wouldn't consider an American heavyweight with the same "skill set" as Fury to be a serious contender would we?
If you want a British fighter that's actually a damn good fighter look at Carl Froch.
