The thing is, AMir Khan match Floyd's handspeed. If not even exceed that of MAyweather. If that's the case he can definitely pull the upset. I dont think Floyd will ever go for the knock out. It doesnt take a genius to notice that Floyd these days dont go for the kill with the exception of the Ortiz fight. AS they say, Ortiz yield a knife, FLoyd drew a gun. Victor deserved the infamous sucker punch.
Does Amir Khan have a chance against mayweather (read inside)?
He does. Tyson vs Douglas 42 -1 odds got shattered 23 years ago. Many so called experts claimed the then undefeated undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will kill Buster. He proved them wrong. Khan he do it? He definitely khan. There's always a chance even a slim one especially with someone as skilled as Khan.
Angulo vs Lara is no indicator of how Amir will fair against Floyd. Despite the fact he doesn't deserve the fight, Amir has a glass jaw. Mayweather is the home town boy of Vegas. If the fight goes to the cards, Floyd cannot lose.
I actually think that Khan was weight drained in the Danny Garcia fight and will be more sturdy and be able to take a punch better at 147 pounds than at 140. Whilst still maybe having a suspect chin at any weight, Khan would not be facing a knockout artist in Floyd Mayweather. (Mayweather not a knockout artist at welterweight anyway) Mayweather the master boxer would I believe have problems with Khan's speed. Khan definitely has a chance in this fight. He may even be able to do a Rocky Lockridge!
With Amir Khan, the thing that is always a worry is his chin. I don't think its as bad as most people say but I agree its not the best. Apart from that, Khan has all the tools of a world class boxer.
When it comes to fighting Mayweather, for me there are two things that go in Khan's favour. Khan is faster than Mayweather. He will be the quickest guy with the fastest hands Mayweather has ever fought so it will be interesting to see how he deals with this. The other thing is Mayweather has no power. He used to have power in his younger days, but apart from his sucker punch KO of Ortiz, he hasn't knocked anyone out since Ricky Hatton. I think that this will enable Khan to take greater risks and let his hands go.
I still think Mayweather will win, but these two factors give Amir Khan a chance of an upset.
Khan is a guy Mayweather can knock out, Danny Garcia recently knocked him out at 140lbs & Garcia couldn't even ko an old Zab Judah.
Khan's speed can be troubling at first but Floyd can exert himself.
24/7 or whatever show promotes the fight will make many people think that Amir Khan has a chance.
I think that prime Amir Khan could have given Mayweather some problems. But current Amir Khan, no. It seems that the only thing Amir Khan has left now is his speed. His power decreased because he doesn't sit on his punches as much anymore because of his fear of being tagged on the chin. His aggressiveness has also gone down because of his focus on defense only. His defense has not improved at all either. All that is left is a boxer with speed who is completely psychologically broken down. His fighting spirit, his aggressiveness, his power, has gone down the drain. He was never a 1 punch knockout artist, and now that his power has gone down, he doesn't even have a punchers chance. Amir Khan would try to press the action in a in-and-out weary way . In return, Mayweather would make him miss and pay, countering him with a variety of punches, especially the left hook upstairs since that is Amir Khan's Achilles heel. By the 4th round, Amir Khans punch output would start to go down and Floyd Mayweather will start to break him down. Floyd UD or late TKO
There is always a chance but it's no more than a punchers chance. Sure his speed may make Floyd a bit uncomfortable, but timing counters speed. Khan has a weak chin and Floyd has underrated power and is the most accurate puncher in the sport. He knows how to land clean blows even when his opponent guards. Look at what happened to Cotto. He nearly was put down.
Mayweather by 120-108 UD, or could KO him whenever he wants.
Khan has no chance he is 2-2, in his last 4, and was finished by Garcia early.
He'll make mayweather uncomfortable with his speed early on, but once floyd gets adjusted khan will get countered all day long. Knock out by the 7th round
marketingwise, this fight was fu
2. khan outboxing floyd , really?
3. khan upsettin floyd, wow, aint got the power... and floyds wit is designed to eliminate that chance..
but ok, I give khan 1% chance, happy?
4. how about floyd, how much chance do you give him to ko khan? man, that glass chin was very reason he fights the pakistani... hahaha
floyd wins by KO, round 6
Okay I used to thought amir didn't have a chance but now I think he might have a better chance then we thought.
It's surprising that Angulo managed to drop Erislandy Lara. A slow fighter like angulo dropped a fast moving fighter like lara.
Of course angulo has a better chin than amir which could be a factor.
But then Amir has faster hands.
I think Virgil Hunter is the best one for the job.
of course Kahn should be a solid underdog, but his hand speed and reach will spell trouble for anyone at 147
and if Floyd doesnt take command early, its very conceivble that Kahn could take a handful of early rounds
but in the end ,Floyds right will catch up to him and very well might set him up for a 10th round TKO
Khan's fake speed and fake skills and fake chin and fake heart will be rapped by the P4P cherry picking king Flipflop Bedwetter.
nahh.. it's only a hype.. but khan is fragile handle with care chin
Be serious
