Do you think that Marquez is on steroids ?

It's quite possible, yes.

But, it is also possible for the body type Marquez is, if he were to weight lift heavy and eat like a bodybuilder. I think he is less suspicious as Pacquiao using. I really believe Marquez might have used something more like Clenbuterol (non-anabolic) or a light steroid like Anavar(helps you keep muscle while you cut weight, regarded as a female steroid). With Pacquiao it looks like he took testosterone and stacked it with a cutter.

Now, imagine if Marquez never lifted weights before and just boxes. He burns so many calories and muscle while he trains. If all of a sudden he goes on a heavy weight lifting regimine, he could quite possibly blow up really fast. The problem is cutting off the fat he adds with the extra calories, while still maintaining muscle mass. That's where the steroids question comes to play.

Remember, guys like David Haye, Evander Holyfield, Lennox, Pacquiao etc. They were able to gain solid muscle and actually increase their speed and not gain fat. That screams steroids all over it.

The knock down in the 3rd round was like the knockout in the 6th, the result of a well placed and well timed right hand. If you look at the slow motion replay, Marquez sat down on his punch. He opened his stance, squatted down, and began the punch low which consequently drew Pacquiao's elbow down to protect against a body blow which he had been landing. Pacquiao saw the punch coming (unlike the knockout punch in the 6th) and tried to recoil backward, but he was too late. The punch caught him flush, and with his backward momentum, drove him to the canvas.

I know people argue that Maquez had hit Pacquiao with punches in all of their previous fights, but if you go back and look at those punches, they were usually on the move, or as a quick stop and pop, which does not allow you to get full leverage. Marquez did put on muscle for the fight. It is possible that he used PED's, but unlikely. He just torqued out his punches more the 4th fight which he went into knowing that he would not likely get a decision. Marquez often throws to counter and score, and to keep a fighter honest. That would at times hurt the opponent, then Marquez was able to put punches together and finish them off, which is why his KO percentage is higher the Pacquiao's. In this situation he through with the intention to punch through and stop, and he did just that.

I don't think he is. JMM embarked on a serious weight training regimen before the 4th Pacquiao fight so that would explain his muscular buildup and unusual strength during that fight. As for that knockout punch, I think it wasn't much about its power but more on its timing and the fact that Manny walked right into it. Besides, on record, JMM was cleared in the mandatory post fight tests so we could only surmise if he did use PED's. But as I've said, his performance that night can easily be justified with perfect preparation and hard training - something Pacquiao took for granted.

I agree with Cali's observations. I have been saying those same lines since the PED issue cropped up.

Dude he already took tests all came back negative stfu already

i don't care about the knock-out of manny pacquiao.

what i care about is when he knock manny down on the 4th round of their 4th fight.

if you can the highlight of that knock down. its pretty hilarious.
