I think the version of Martinez that beat Pavlik could possibly outbox Golovkin, but the current Martinez gets koed by him. Martinez went life and death against Murray in his last fight and was dropped by him even though he's not a huge puncher. He also had a competitive fight against Macklin, who Golovkin annihilated. Golovkin is too young and too strong.
I'm not a sergio Martinez fan, but I don't think Golovkin is better than Him.
Martinez is actually a proven champion in his division. Look at his fight to fight resume. Wins over Chavez jr, Paul Williams (2 in my books) & Pavliks and a few other notable names.
Who has Golovkin fought? A bunch of bums in Germany. His best win was against Macklin (who's overrated). As he steps up further in class you will see GGG isn't as good as We initially thought. From what I can see he's very easy to hit.
Maravilla Martinez would give him a boxing lesson.
Definitely not even close to top 3 Pound for Pound in the world, period. Golovkin is simply more in his prime than Martinez is. Martinez however has been tested in the ring. Golovkin has had the power to avoid being tested. That's not called being better, that's just having an advantage.
Golovkin only carries power really. Yes he's good but he hasn't faced anyone to give him a fight or anyone to test that chin of his, because who knows maybe Golovkin can get KOed easily.
Martinez is getting rusty recently.
If they made the fight now Martinez would be murdered.
if ggg dosn't smash martinez to bits when/if they meet ,i will delete my account.thats how confident i am that golovkin beats all at 160lbs
they need to fight cuz they are both good...cant say who's better.
I didn't know much about Golovkin, but I've been reading his articles and it sounds like everyone doesn't want to fight him, he's too good.
I just watched his fight against Macklin and a video of him hitting the pads and WOWWWWW.....he might be the 2nd or 3rd top P4P in the world.
