No both have similar styles but they are very different
Mayweather did not skip any weight classes. Broner did to fight a past his prime C level fighter.
Mayweather is a complete boxer. Broner is not, he is flat footed and is more flashy than anything else.
Mayweather is a far more accurate puncher. He is a better counter puncher, better ring generalship, etc.
and this is a past prime Mayweather, Minus the experience, Mayweather in his prime was a far better fighter.
He's a C level fighter [like Paulie]. If he keeps improving he may become a B level fighter.

I really haven't watched much Broner, aside from a few highlights. But judging from what I've read and the compubox numbers it doesn't look like it.
Mayweather usually outlands his opponents like 200-85, but Broner has already had a few drawish fights with almost equal compubox stats.
And mayweather is much more defensive and smart.
