No, you do not need to get a physical to join a boxing gym. But if you want to seriously compete in boxing you will need to get a physical.
No but every time you compete in a bout, the doctor will give you a quick physical..like blood pressure and check your reflexes and stuff...but if you compete in tournaments like the golden gloves or LBC tournaments, they do everything including making you cough..
To join a gym-no, to actually compete in a U.S.A. sanctioned match, yes.
