Boxing is a competition which was seen by the audiences and it would so sad to lose in the end, after spending days/months of training. And it would be so embrassing to get KO/TKOed.
Of course, every boxer get nervous before a fight. No secret about that.
I used to fight and I always got nervous. It's funny that the guy who I thought I could easily beat, and wasn't nervous for, was the guy that beat me. I know it sounds corny, because it's been said in a movie or two, but fear is your best friend. You have to harness that fear though. Don't let it consume you, but use it to your advantage. If you treat every opponent with respect, meaning they are capable of knocking you out at any moment, you will be in the right frame of mind to stick to your game plan and win the fight. It's when you stop being scared, when you think you can take your opponents punches, that you do and eventually lose. Stay focused.
Feel your breathing, make it into rhythm to calm your heart down, wait a minute, it won't calm down, but this heart rate is VERY GOOD, you must flow, become water, and than when he hits you, and you hit him a few times, try to change it into fire, EXPLODE WITH RAGE AND ANGER :0)
Yep, they all get nervous before a fight/
a pro fighter? nervous? please kid get out of this town before I laugh hahaha. If you go in showing weakness the opponent will capitalize by knocking you out. simple as that
ok just get really pumped and think about smashing his face in also get yourself really angry
Im an amateur fighter with a record of 2-0 (I know its not much but im proud of it) and I remember before my fights id get sooo nervous! so many things would go through my head like 'what's this guy capable of?' or 'what if I get knocked out?' etc. My heart pounds when I step in the ring too! are any of you other fighters like this too? how do you cope with it?
