Interesting fight! Haye is fast and a powerful puncher but I feel based on what I saw from a prime Bowe who was a big and fast heavyweight in the 90's that did defeat a prime Holyfield 2 of 3 fights that he could beat Haye and most likely by knockout too. The thing people don't know about Bowe is that he was also an excellent body puncher and was difficult to hurt especially at is best and lost only 1 career fight. Bowe has the better jab and perhaps the better chin. Durability is about even and strength goes to Bowe too who is the naturally bigger and stronger man. Haye would have some good moments in the fight but Bowe would survive and eventually get to Haye with some great shots and sending him down for the 10 count.
Bowe WKO10
Bowe would take this.
Physical stats are similar. Bowe only has 2 inches in height on Haye and 3 inches in reach. But I don't see Haye winning this. He's explosive, fast and elusive - he's good with his feints. But we all saw the Klitschko fight, imagine that but worse. Bowe had a very effective jab, hard hitting and fast - I imagine Haye being elusive in the early rounds, but Haye soon gets slower and finds himself getting tagged more.
Bowe can fight on the outside with his jab and straights - but he's also able to fight inside, he's very powerful. While Haye can hit hard, he'll struggle inside because not only can Bowe take a punch (see the Golota fight), but he can fight inside. He was a very powerful puncher.
Haye wins the early rounds, but around the mid rounds Bowe will start to hurt Haye and land his jab more frequently. Haye finds himself out-gunned here and can't seem to really hurt or out-land Bowe.
Bowe TK08.
I like both boxers but I think Bowe will win by decision. David haye is a skilful boxer but he tends to lose focus in his fights. While Bowe become stronger as the fight progress. Haye also struggle against taller and bigger opponents. Hence, Wladimir Klitschko. Bowe was not as skilful as Klitschko but he's powerful. Too much for Haye to handle.
Bowe was always unbeatable at his best. He just rarely was at his best.
At their best, 12 rounds, heavyweight division. Who wins?
