Chisora vs Scott stoppage, thoughts?

The rules in Britain (take from the British Boxing Board of Control rule book) state:

"3.33 If a Boxer is “down” under the provisions of Regulation 3.32.1(a) he must return to the boxing ring unassisted within twenty seconds. In all other cases mentioned above, he must regain his feet unassisted within ten seconds. "

Looks to to me like the referee waved it off at 9.2ish which was wrong of the referee. What he should have done is finished the count.

I agree with Kevin L ! Many fight go on at 9 but Scott milked it and was punished :( right or wrong the ref should have a clear thoughts on the state of the boxer and Scott could have continued if he had ! So in my opinion ref was wrong ....... Without mentioning he robbed us viewers of a few more rounds :)

A mistake by the ref. I've seen many fights where the boxer gets up at nine and the fight is allowed to continue. It's only if a fighter gets up at 9 but is clearly struggling that the fight is stopped.....but Scot jumped straight up so most refs would have allowed the fight to go on.

Bad call by the ref.

Scotts fault, at 9 hes barely getting up. He needs to be up by 8 to allow the ref to see hes still there.

He should have stood at 8, but I think the ref still should not have stopped the fight.

Scott was not hurt and obviously could have continued.

i think he was of the deck at 9.5 but why did scot leave it so late .

i was impressed with scott it was the first time i've seen him and he boxes like a middle weight , scott will be back .

I loved it. Onwards and upwards for crazy Derek. It's no one elses fault that Malik can't count to ten.

Bad reffing; should had let it continue. If he was I'n bad shape he would have got ko'd...

Malik Scott is a bum.

That's my thoughts.

Having watched the count several times, I still can't make my mind up. Scott doesn't start getting up until 9 and doesn't appear to be fully standing until 10. Is it the ref's fault, and should he have let him continue as he was up? Or is it Scott's fault for not starting to get up until 9?

Here is a clip of the stoppage, not sure how long youtube will let it stay up for though.
