If he moves up he might end up like Abner Mares. Mares is a physical fighter but when he moves up to a division where he's outsized, he'll give up his physical advantages and can't be effective like he was in his natural weight. That was a mistake and so is Canelo moving up, I think he can go his whole career at this weight
Fighters like Whitaker, Mayweather, Sergio Martinez, Ivan Calderon can fight above their natural weight without any problems cause their not physical, they try to outbox a fighter and u don't need core strength or power to do so.
when you move up in weight you only have 1 advantage speed
the guys fighting just above welter weight and your saying he'll get beat @super middle ?
Canelo is slightly overhyped? No.
If he is then why is it that Floyd drained Canelo's azz?
Its definitely possible but unlikely. Canelo has been mistaken to be have one punch knock out power. He doesn't, he accumulates damage and wears opponents down before taking them out. However, we sont know how strong Canelo actually is as he has mostly faced sub-par competition. If he moves to middleweight, he might fare well but at super middleweight where i think he will end up, he will get murdered. He is only 5'9 and 70.5' reach. There are dudes over 6 foot and long arms and even more who have proven to be able to knockout guys their size.
Canelo might dominate welterweights but middleweights would take all his advantages in size and power. Him against Chavez Jr would be a good match but Chavez is the much bigger and stronger man
