ShowTime might have hyped up Angulo but people forget that this is his 4rth pro loss. James Kirkland, who is TRASH in the middleweight division [much less a world champion like Quillins], destroyed Angulo in just 6 rounds. Frekin Kermit Cintron beat a prime Angulo, while Canelo took 10 rounds to finish a beat goods 1 dimensional brawler like Angulo.
Here are the facts;
Canelo has fought several FORMER world champions at 154lbs and all were close fights or a loss, but he only fought 1 world champion in Austin Trout and he got got a gift decision [he was outlanded in almost every round according to compubox].
Quilins is a world champion in MIDDLEWEIGHT.
Weight classes exist for a reason. A world champ at 154lbs almost whopped him imagine what a middleweight world champion would do.

Canelo looked impressive against Angulo, controversial stoppage but it was a great performance.
Anyway Canelo is a big junior middleweight and will eventually move up, Peter Quillin is at his peak now but hasn't done anything major since winning the title. Quillin is in a bad situation because all the big fights at 160 are on HBO so he hasn't had that signature fight to make him a star but if Alvarez moved up that could be the big fight Quillin craves for his career.
