I'd give the edge to Broner. Don't get me wrong, Broner is definitely overrated and he'd most likely be dominated by the winner of Garcia-Mathysse, but Maidana is a notch below those two. A lot of people have noted how his technique has improved with Robert Garcia, but he usually reverts back to his brawling style in the heat of battle. I also think he's started to physically decline during the past few years. He had to dig deep against Soto-Karass and Lopez, guys I think he would have blasted out a few years back. That being said, Broner's defense is overrated and Maidana is a harder puncher than any fighter he's faced, so the Argentinian definitely has a shot at pulling off a win.
that is a possible fight. if it happens, i believe that Maidana will win. broner is flat-footed when he boxes and you can easily predict his punches. broner is also too conservative in fights. when he fought malinaggi, i thought it was a draw. Maidana hits way harder than anyone that broner has fought. if Maidana vs. Broner doesn't happen, it will probably the the winner of Matthyesse vs Garcia who will fight Broner.
broner will get overconfident thinking his defense is as good as mayweather and might possibly trade with maidana and eventually get knocked out. I'm predicting a knockout by the 9th round.
