After you spar a little more you'll get more comfortable with it and to be even better, change up your sparring partners. If you use the same one all the time you'll get use to their style of fighting and you will learn less after that.
It's natural to not do too well when u first spar. After all Rome wasn't built in a day. Try and use that jab as well as other combinations like jab, jab, cross and lead hand hook, cross. Also be patient and try not to force the fight. U should be taught how to counter shots like jabs before they put u in the ring for sparring. Make sure u r well conditioned cos if ure not, sparring is suicide. It will come eventually so just be patient. Good luck
well firstly dont close your eyes and flinch, your in a fight, its hurts more if you close your eyes because you brain cant prepare itself. Secondly just try to get comfortable in the ring, everything comes with time and make sure to keep your hands up always, since your a beginner stick to the jab as the primary weapon then slowly start putting your combos together as you improve and talk to your trainer for tips and advice im sure he can advise you
Trust me i was exactly like you Keep sparring keep practicing and you will get used to it you wont flinch and the shots will barely hurt because youre so into fighting
It's always like that at the beginning. You'll get better the more you train.
Do triple punches and lots of defense
protect your chin
So I had my first sparring experience and it didn't go so well. I got my *** whopped..lol. My sparring partner didn't really hit hard but it did little damage. Being in the ring first time with someone else feels intimitating. 'm worried about getting countered when i throw punch. When I get hit, the punches are not hard but i flinch and close my eyes. And all the heavy bag and mitt workout i did feel totally useless against a real opponent cause he keep on moving around.
