To everyone who says boxing is dangerous and go on about head trauma... you do realize you're talking about professional fighting?
In training, sparring and even amateur fighting, brain injury should be the least of your worries. Black eyes and bloody or broken noses, definitely, but concussions are pretty rare and serious brain injury is unheard of in amateur boxers.
At the amateur level, wrestling is definitely more dangerous. They spar more than boxers, and the sparring is always done at 100% intensity. In freestyle and Greco you get slammed (which can result in broken ribs or unconsciousness) and your body gets twisted into ways it's not supposed to move. Sprains and strains happen all the time, neck and joint injuries are also fairly common (and sometimes permanent).
Boxing is more dangerous.
You can get hurt in wrestling but all the technics and rules are about not actually harming your opponent. Whereas in boxing, you are, in fact, trying to punch your opponent's face in as much as you can.
A professional boxing champion does not have to defend his title more than once every 6 or 12 months because that's how much time it takes to heal after 20-stone guys have been punching each other for just half an hour.
Having said that, boxing is a legitimate and healthy, sport and it's not so dangerous that anyone shouldn't do.
If you mean pro wrestling then yeah, that would be more dangerous, actual wrestling on the other hand is more or less grappling whereas boxing is a full contact sport involving punching and kicking
I say boxing.
I think boxing is because you can use your legs for kicking. Boxing is more focused on like brute strength and wrestling is more like long-term strategy and strength...
My brother is wants to go do boxing but we (family) say its very dangerous.
