I think he will. However will the 0 mean a lot? There is no hate in that question but Mayweather has more or less said he chooses his opponents and I feel that as well as being remembered for being a good boxer he will be remembered for the fights he didn't take.
There is of course the Pacquiao fight, in 2010 or thereabouts it would have been a mega fight and Mayweather could have made an unheard of purse but the fight didn't happen.
In addition to Pacquiao he didn't fight Paul Williams and waited until Miguel Cotto had two losses before he fought him. He probably would have won against all three in their primes but it is a mark against him that in that time he chose to fight blown up light welterweight Hatton, past prime Mosely and lightweight Marquez instead.
Mayweather is one of the standout talents of the last decade but with regards to being undefeated it doesn't mean an awful lot unless the opposition is top notch.
If he continues to exercise the sole decision of picking his opponents, I think he will retire undefeated. I think CBS/ Showtime have to also have a bigger say on his choice of opponents inasmuch as they have Floyd under contract. It is to their mutual interest for his next opponents to be improving in level of quality and difficulty because after the Guerrero fight, the fans may no longer patronize his coming fights if the opponents do not even have a ghost of a chance of beating him.
He if fights all 5 in a tune up fight, he could be undefeated...Fighting a very low competition makes a fighter undefeated...However if he fights canelo, martinez and pac that i cannot guarantee his undefeated record...
Yes becuase he will not fight the best fighters in there prime..
