These people want Mayweather to lose. They discredit him for everything he does because he is the villain. It's just like how they said Mayweather is too big for Marquez but not too big for Pacquiao when they are both the same size. If he were to beat Pacquiao that would be the excuse and they would demand he fights someone bigger and he has and he still gets criticized.
Floyd has done everything asked of him and people refuse to give him credit. Now people are demanding he go to 160 lbs to fight Golovkin or Martinez. If he were to do that he would be criticized and they would demand he fight Ward and Wladimir Klitschko.
Also, Floyd Mayweather started his professional career as a Super Featherweight. He went up in weight fighting bigger men in different weight classes, yet he is criticized the minute he fights someone smaller than him, but it's ok for the other fighter to have a size advantage. Just like when Floyd was fighting older men it was not ok but now he is the old man and there are still excuses.
In short. It is completely ok for his opponents to have every single advantage. If Mayweather has even one advantage, he is criticized.
Floyd is the biggest victim of "revisionist history" in all of boxing! The small framed Mayweather routinely fights guys who are bigger than him. Floyd is what, 5'8" with his shoes on? Leonard was a big welter and he lost to Duran. Oscar is a big dude and got his butt handed to him by Shane. Floyd gets criticized no mater what he does. The only reason he did not "lose" to Canelo was that he had to thoroughly outbox Alvarez, and one judge STILL tried to rob him! Pacquiao has been knocked out by the likes of Torrecampo, 3K Battery, Hussein actually had Manny down for 11 seconds, Marquez has arguably defeated Manny 4 times. Morales busted Manny up, and there are STILL idiots who claim Manny is better than Floyd! Mayweather might have to retire for people to appreciate him.
These are not real boxing fans they know nothing about the sport or it's nuances. They think you can just put on a couple of pounds and fight the guy in the next weight class and you should be fine. They think that two guys standing in the center of the ring slugging it out is boxing, they think that Floyd Mayweather is running when he is using ring general ship to avoid getting hit.Don't get worked up over it great information.

These are all are fights where Lightweight champions beat Welterweight champions. None of those Welterweights were criticized for fighting smaller elites. Why is Floyd criticized for fighting the #3 pound for pound, Ring Lightweight champion?
