Golovkin. Cotto. Quillin. Soliman. Jacobs. Martinez...
Golovkin would easily win.
Cotto is a HOF fighter, but his only MW win was against a shot Sergio Martinez. He is unproven and undersized. Soliman honestly is not that good and never has been. Martinez is shot. Quillen is a really solid boxer but he has not faced/beaten anybody relevant, at all, really. I think Jacobs is a good fighter who could give GGG his toughest test at MW, but I still think he would lose. He is the only guy I see having a chance at going the distance with GGG.
GGG towers over these, IMO. This has a lot to due with his greatness, and even more to do with how weak the division is.
GGG and Ward would be an awesome fight!
Cotto, Golovkin, Soliman, Jacobs, Quillin and Murray in a round robin with the top two guys slugging it out for universal recognition.
Pairing is through drawing of lots. In the first two rounds, two straight wins automatically qualify a fighter to a sudden death eliminator for one of the two final slots and a two straight defeats knock out a fighter from the tournament.
There however is a provision for the entry of substitute contestants in case of automatic elimination and/or withdrawal of original entrants before the third round of the tournament. Substitutes will be drawn from a pool composed of former champions Sergio Martinez and Felix Sturm and other rated contenders as Hassan Ndam JKam, Daniel Geale, Marco Antonio Rubio and Andy Lee
Miguel Cotto, Gennady Golovkin, Peter Quillin, Sam Soliman and Marco Antonio Rubio.
I wouldn't put Jacobs in it because he isn't a world class middleweight.
I would take Martinez out. He is done. As good as he was, he doesn't have the legs (literally) to be competitive anymore. Perhaps substitute Murray. I think Golovkin ultimately wins.
I agree with your 6. Golovkin wins.
Martinez is shot.....His best days are well behind him. Not a bad super 5 otherwise.
Who wins?
Golovkin. Cotto. Quillin. Soliman. Jacobs. Martinez...
