Yeah he did the business, I had it 119-111 for Crawford at the end and it could of perhaps have been wider although the official scoring was a bit closer for some reason. I've only seen Crawford once before and sure the performance wasn't spectacular but I got the feeling that he was doing what was required and if he had to do more he could have. I may be wrong as I say I don't really know too much about him but that was the impression I got tonight.
Not good enough from Burns tonight though, the kid should never have been allowed to win a world title that comfortably at all, very unsatisfactory indeed but credit to him too, he came over and is leaving with the championship.
Gutted.
nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah Ricky Ricky Burns, Ricky Burns, Ricky Ricky Burns!!!!
Unbelievable atmosphere, and a great night of boxing. As Ricky said, the better man won. I thought Ricky looked sluggish from the start. He didn't seem to have anything in the tank and wasn't getting his shots away. It was very much like the Gonzalez fight, although I thought Gonzalez actually looked slicker than Crawford until he quit. As they say, styles make fights, and Ricky doesn't seem to do well against slick boxers who are quick and have a long reach.
Crawford looked good and proved he is ready to mix it with the best at lightweight. He could go on to unify the division in the next couple of years, if he wants to. I don't see the point in a rematch with Burns, as I can't see what Ricky could do differently next time.
Crawford is elite b/c aside from Vazquez, lightweight is a sh*tty division and he'd dominate most everyone in it.
I have no idea how a fight against Vazquez would go, but I know it will be a horrible horrible fight.
Any fight between Crawford, Vazquez, John Molina, Hank Lundy or Mickey Bey I'm down for. In all honesty I think on their best nights Lundy may be the best of the bunch.
I agree. Crawford is solid, but he doesn't look elite. He seemed to have trouble connecting cleanly when he didn't have Burns against the ropes, and I think Vazquez could frustrate him with his movement and activity. Hopefully Beltran gets a crack at the title next.
I think Terrence crawford is elite because he dominated the champ in impressive fashion. He won virtually every round without taking significant punishment. I also think he will beat Vasquez because he is a technician. He know how to adapt to every fighter that is standing across from him. Great performance by Crawford.
Crawford has been overrated. He's ok at best I won't call him a bum but he's certainly not an elite level fighter.
Congrats to him on beating Ricky Burns But...
I Really wasnt impressed with him tonight, i would advise crawford to stay away from the #1 lightweight in Miguel vazquez cause he would lose badly.
