He does. Loma needs to work his way up having a great amateur background should only get you alot of money.
Ima be honest, I think Loma will lose his next fight and will prove a big mistake to be pushed that early.
As far as who deserves, u can argue that the fighter Loma beat is better than the ones Russel beat and the 2 gold medals help his cause but I personally dont think he deserves a title shot.
2 wrongs dont make a right, but Russell has only his team to blame for pushing him too damn slow. Just because one fighter is doing the opposite doesnt mean he should get a title shot without fighting 1 fighter in the top 10.
False ,Vasyl Lomenchenko looked awesome in the 2012 olympics but that was the olympics ,this is the pros ,he should have to work his way up through the ranks just like Gary Russel and everyone else ,regardless of the Lomenchenko hype.
Vasyl Lomenchenko sort of reminds me of Oscar De La Hoya when he came out of the olympics with his hype and promise in the pros ,Lomenchenko is so ambitious ,he's fighting Orlando Salido next month in his next pro fight ,he may surpass Gary Russel within a couple of years going that pace.
True.
GRJR is my boy, I've been watching him since he made the Olympic squad in '08.
I call him "Machine Gun Russell", b/c that's the nickname my brother came up with after seeing his ridiculous offense (my brother initially said he was the dude to look out for, and he was right).
Being a huge fan of his makes me more annoyed with him at this point.
Lomanchenko's first opponent was better than all of GRJR's combined. His amateur pedigree is one of the GOAT, and he's not trying to wait around. Same went for Rigondeaux.
Gary's competition has been complete horse sh*t, injuries have sidelined him, and even though he could step up and beat guys like Salido, Gonzalez (he'd crush Jhonny), etc.... the fact is he doesn't deserve a title shot based on his resume, and on top of that has turned down every big fight he's been offered, besides of course the Jhonny Gonzalez fight (which was before Gonzalez beat Mares).
It's really too bad. Evidently, according to GB, GRJR is the mandatory for the winner of Lomanchenko vs Salido and will be taking the fight.
I know those two guys are w/ Top Rank, but both parties are going to let the fight go to purse bid and let the best man win the rights to the promotion.
It's about time.
Lomachenko's first and only pro fight eclipses Russell's bum festival of a resume lol
True or False???
