Malignaggi would be next in my line of boxers that are complete hype jobs with absolutely no skill to speak of. If he wasnt such a personality he wouldnt even be a conversation piece.
Malignaggi is the "Chris Byrd" of his division, he runs, he feather flurries and he runs again. He also makes it his life mission to single out fighters that he thinks he has a distinct speed advantage. Unfortunately he has not been able to capitalize on that because he lacks every other skill available.
Broner, despite being smaller, would still be the stronger of the two. AND, he would be the faster, a aspect Paulie would not enjoy.
Broner would finish what Cotto started...he would end Paulie and retire him by dropping him.
LETS MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN!!! :)
I have to go against the grain on this one.
You have to consider the size difference between Pauli Malignaggi and Adrien Broner. Malignaggi has been fighting at 147 for the past 5 or so fights and Broner just moved up to 135 in his last fight and looked small ,even for 135 ,that's about a 17 to 20 pound weight swing in favor of Malignaggi.
You also have to consider Broners last 7 or so opponents weren't exactly slick fighters with effective movement to match his like Malignaggi would bring to the table ,not to mention the reach and size advantage in favor of Pauli Malignaggi.
Paul Malignaggi would probably win a MD in the eyes of the general public but would get robbed since Adrien Broner is the next potential cashcow of boxing.
I think it's an okay fight, but I'm not that interested. Malignaggi is not an elite fighter at this point, even though he holds a belt.
He could barely get by Pablo Cesar Cano for Christ's sake, Broner would beat him up and stop him late, just like Hatton and Khan did.
I perfer Broner vs Guerrero.. which wont happen because broner goot scared of him when robert guerrero went uo to his face and said he wanted to fight.
Not bad but i'd like to see him tested more.Broner VS Kahn would be one helluva matchup. Then there are so many othern guys that could cause him problems at 140lb's.The 3 one's i'd most like to see are
Broner Vs Kahn,Broner Vs Peterson and Broner Vs Marquess
i think malignaggi was lucky to keep the belt in his last fight at the barclays centre.broner would probably make this one look easy
Sounds like Broner doesn't have much confidence in Ricky Burns beating Miguel Vasquez and we know that neither Broner or any other 135 pound fighter wants to end up in the ring with Vasquez. Paulie is a chance for him to side step some real killers at 140 and beat a feather fisted Welterweight and then perhaps let some of the real fighters beat each other up before he challenges them.
On paper Paulie has no chance. he's too old, his arms are too short and has no killer instinct.
You know I am a big Malinaggi fan he is a cute little fighter with no power but he gets in there and he lets it all out. B roner would kill him If they weighed the same.
Anything envolving Malinaggi sounds sub par.
easy fight for broner
Who would win?
