Good fight. There are a few factors to consider.
Don't compare Hearns to Diego Corrales. Only height is a factor. Mayweather is probably THE most accurate fighter Hearns would ever face but Hearns is still worlds ahead of Chico in every way.
No One outboxes Hearns at 147 or 154. Not even Ray Leonard. To beat Hearns, you HAVE to knock him out. Because of his height, speed and power, a blend Corrales lacks, Hearns would keep Mayweather on the defensive. Floyd would get in at times but he would pay a price in the early and middle rounds.
Hearns would be a tougher fight for Mayweather than Leonard would. Floyd would be able to make Ray miss punches he usually doesn't miss. Ray would be stronger and match Floyd's speed and likely win on points but he would not be able to trouble Floyd as would Hearns. He would also not afford to make any mistakes against Floyd.
Hearns would pay a price if he misses in the early rounds. However, he is an offensive nightmare for ANY welterweight and would neutralize much of Floyd's offense early. Floyd would find a weakness in Hearns' offensive and exploit it. He would win most of the later rounds and survive a middle rounds scare. Floyd can take a punch but he has never faced a puncher like Hearns. Again, Corrales doesn't come close. He's too easy to hit, should never have been a 130 lb. fighter and had nowhere near Hearns' ring smarts.
He he doesn't catch Mayweather by round six, Hearns will likely have to settle for a points win. In a 15 round fight, he would have to win most of the early rounds because Floyd is one of the few of today's fighters who would go 15 rather easily. Most wouldn't.
Floyd would close Hearns' early lead but come up short on the cards, narrowly escaping a stoppage in round six.
Hearns W15
I am going with Hearns, who was too tall, fast, and strong for Mayweather.
At 147, Hearns will be much larger than Mayweather, since at fight time he most likely weighs closer to 160 or even heavier.
If he ever connects with the big right hand Floyd is sleeping the rest of the night.
Always very hard to pick against Hearns in a head-to-head, especially at 147. Maybe only Robinson actually gets him. Tommy UD 12 Floyd.
About the same way that Floyd Mayweather beat Diego Corrles ,the only difference is that Hearns punches a little harder but it wouldn't make a difference because he wouldn't be able to land.
If Thomas Hearns tried to put that jab on Mayweather ,Mayweather would make adjustments and catch Hearns with hard effective counter punches which would neutralize the jab and stay one step ahead of Hearns.
Mayweather by TKO by round 10
Hearns by KO in the mid rounds
tommy hearns would murder mayweather . he could out box him if he wanted to or KO floyd if he wanted . hearns is completely wrong for mayweather to much reach to much power to much every thing .
How does this play out?
