Boxing does a great job of hyping up fights. Robert Guerrero has no chance Saturday night. When Mayweather first took this bout everybody was saying how it was cherry picked and how it was going to be so easy and now after a few months of hype and promotion, people all of a sudden are on the Guerrero band wagon. Go look at who Guerrero has fought. The answer is NOBODY. The closest guy to world class he has fought is Andre Berto. Andre Berto......Floyd Mayweather....Andre Berto.....Floyd Mayweather.....Does anybody see an issue here? The Ghost has a very straight forward mentality with little movement and an average defense. He throws enough punches for Mayweather to counter. I just don't understand the hype here? It's another Victor Ortiz, maybe worse. Can somebody who thinks Guerrero will win please give me a credible reason or reasons as to why?
I hope Jeremy's right but this fight has bothered me for a while. I've always had bad feelings about it. Guerrero is a quiet, religious guy with huge self belief and hasn't been beaten bad and through the mill like cotto has, he will be able to fight a similar fight to cotto when he faced floyd, but he's gonna have more motivation, self belief and determination. floyds a world apart in terms of skills, but he's getting old, slowing down and has a lot of distractions these days.
Everyone's underestimating Guerrero and it wouldn't surprise me if floyd is too. Common sense tells me that floyd should be able to put on a master class and box this guys head off, but for some reason I wouldn't be too shocked if this turned out to be his toughest fight yet. we may even see him knocked down. I'm prob just being ridiculous though and would still bet my money on floyd.
Nope, I think he will get smothered by Mayweather. This guy fought Andre Berto and used dirty moves to beat him. Mayweather has also become more and more of a better fighter inside. Pretty much all of the people who have fought him think that fighting him inside would resolve their problems, and they have all failed. Don't get me wrong, I will root for Guerrero to finally put an end to the Mayweather-Pacquaio ruled era of boxing.
no but i wouldn't be too shocked if he did,after all floyd isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore and gurerro has the type of style that may give mayweather trouble
